Well, I'm settling in to my internship at the Midland Historical Society and have three (yes, that's three!) interviews starting today. You've got to pay the bills, right? Freelance writing is fun and all, but whoever said you can make a living off of it lied. Some progress has been made. I've added a whole bunch of those random feed websites like Twitter, Delicious, etc. and am hoping they help bump my page views at Associated Content and Suite101. Writing about history can be a curse sometimes, because outside of the school year there isn't enough interest. Apparently you can make a killing writing housekeeping, gardening, and other articles, but history is a bit more of a struggle. It's definitely more fun than writing those other articles, though.
Anyways, let's get straight to the topic. I don't have any articles to link to just yet (Associated Content is currently considering four more of my topics for publication), but I wanted to update with a little off-line news. I'm preparing to send out my very first queries to various historical magazines. I have a killer idea for an article (actually, several) and think I have a shot at getting it published.
That's all for now, I'll be back with links when there are more to give.
